My heart is a Comet (or a Jack Russell)
Burning cold in a vacuum (barking at passers-by)
Visible to the naked eye
Bent by gravity (or a need to mark territory)
It visits, orbits, sniffs planets and lamp posts.

I never ‘get’ poetry (especially if it doesn’t rhyme).
passers-by and naked eye;
gravity and territory;
visits and orbits.
Somebody said “poetry can communicate before it is understood”.
But I’m not claiming it’s a good poem…
Maybe you’d prefer this quote about poetry, which I feel you’ll find as comprehensible as poetry itself :-)
“In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it’s the exact opposite.”
Indeed, very enlightening; it’s a good scientific explanation…
Was it a comet or meteorite or a flaming jack russell that wiped out the dinosaurs?
