My car’s due for its MOT.
Garage A have always given me good service. They’re a small concern - three people, two ramps and an air compressor - but they’re a bugger to get to, being more-or-less diametrically opposite my home on a map of york, and by no stretch of the imagination on the route to work.
When I tried to take my Spitfire there for some work, they declined as they didn’t want it stuck on the ramps for weeks waiting for a part, so I took it to garage B.
Garage B have given me reasonable service, though once let me drive away in a car with brakes significantly below par. You can drop down to a cyclepath from them and be at my office within 40 minutes’ walking. They are also the garage that Garage A takes my car to for its MOT.
Tricky.

Well if garage A would just take your car to garage B for MOT, then wouldn’t it be quicker to bypass them and take the car to garage B, being as that’s where it will have it’s MOT whichever garage you take it too.
Yeah, but it’s sad that I’m going to cut out a little place that I think should get to survive, and I’m going to stop giving it money :-(
A.
No B.
Um…
I think you’ll find that Garage C is both nearer and more like Garage A.
That is very true, in that case I’d take it to garage A (I thought they wouldn’t be getting any financial benifit if they were just passing the car on to garage B), and if U could get your bike in the boot! then you’d get more excercise too :-)
Actually, you’re right Ash, it’s just round the corner and has 4 people, 2 ramps and a vacuum pump. They also have a big cloud of rumour and unsubstantiated accusations around them which even the “UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT” sign can’t seem to shift.
You shouldn’t have a Spitfire anyway. They are all dead. Get an MG. They are just as unreliable.
