Funny sorts of floods

Well, I found out why everyone in SB talks about the weather. After threatened droughts, we had inches of rain yesterday. When this happens, the towns and freeways flash-flood, SUVs roll over, people get wet socks crossing the road and if they’re really unlucky, lumps of mountain slip down into, or from under, populated areas. I’m assuming it’s slightly less exciting than the news anchor people would have it, but also slightly more exciting than “Oo, the floods were ankle deep on the roads!”. I didn’t manage to get pictures but I’ll see how downtown is doing at lunchtime and take photos if there are any good ones to be had.

Ok. this is quite bad. York may flood deeper, but it’s a far more civilised flood!
