About 1:30 before touchdown in LA i’m trying to spot the grand canyon but have little idea what state we’re flying over. It was incredibly wide and flat, with a single, proud mountain range erupting from the middle. The whole earth seems to be covered in snow, so i guess that sets it at a certain altitude or latitude. Moments later, terrain gave way to a mountainous region with canyons… very striking!
